NAHMA Scholarship Program Hits New Highs
Earlier this month the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) released the results of its 2017 scholarship campaign. To say they are impressive is an understatement. 130 students from affordable housing communities received $2,500 scholarships in 2017. While the association gave away $325,000 in 2017, it also surpassed $1,000,000 in total giving. Even more noteworthy is the increase in annual recipients. 51 more students received scholarships in 2017 compared to 2016.
Continued Program Growth
While the program hit new milestones in 2017, it does not come anywhere close to describing its incredible growth. In 2007 the program awarded 22 scholarships worth $22,000. In 11 years those numbers have see dramatic growth to the new all time highs of 2017. Additionally they have donated $2,000 to the Real Estate Management Department at Virginia Tech.
