Apartment Resident Event Ideas July 2022

Warm weather is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about your next resident event. In July, there are many exciting events and activities that you can host in your apartment complex. If you need some inspiration, take a look at our top apartment resident event ideas for July 2022.

Independence Day Party: Celebrate America’s birthday with an Independence Day Party on or around July 4th. Because so many people travel or make other plans on the actual 4th, hosting this event on a different day can increase participation. Consider a costume contest where residents dress up as historical figures from the 1770’s with winners receiving a copy of the Declaration of Independence.

Celebrate National Culinary Arts Month: Hire a chef or local restauranteur to host a professional cooking class to help residents celebrate and participate in National Culinary Arts Month. Properties without a great space to host this event can throw a virtual cooking class. This makes it easy for residents to participate in their own kitchens using a phone, computer, or tablet to stream the class.

MLB Allstar Game Watch: Help residents celebrate America’s national pastime with a MLB Allstar Game watch party. The 2022 game falls on Tuesday July 19th. Apartment managers with a professional team can host a baseball trivia contest with a chance to win tickets or other team related prizes. Renting a hot dog cart or bringing in a hot dog food truck is a great way to bring “ballpark” style food to the event.

July’s “National Day” Celebrations

Each month we highlight different “National Days” that make for great apartment resident events and activities. These come from the National Day Calendar and are a great reason to have an event or activity for your apartment residents!

All American Pet Photo Day on July 11th: Residents love showing off their pets. Host a photo board in the lobby where residents can post pictures of their All-American pets. Property managers can also share these photos with residents via the community Facebook group.

National French Fry Day on July 13th: What better way to celebrate National French Fry Day than with a fry taste off? Property managers can bring in fries from favorites like McDonald’s and Wendy’s to Five Guys and do a blind taste test. Let residents vote for their favorite fries ahead of time, and see how the blind test stacks up!

National Ice Cream Day on July 17th: An ice cream social is an easy and logical event to pull off on National Ice Cream Day. This day falls on the third Sunday of July every year. Hosting an ice cream making class can tie this event into National Culinary Arts Month.
