October 2022 Apartment Events Guaranteed To Impress Your Residents

Kick off fall on a high note with fun and intriguing October events for all of your residents. Start planning now with inspiration from our apartment resident event ideas for October 2022.

Oktoberfest Party: Looking to break away from the traditional Halloween style resident events this fall? Go all out with an Oktoberfest celebration for residents. Property managers can serve authentic German cuisine such as Würstl (sausages) and Brezen (pretzels) or find a food truck that specializes in German food and beer.

Apple Tasting Party: Do your residents prefer pink lady’s, granny smiths, gala, or McIntosh apples? Find out with a blind folded apple tasting event and voting contest. Put an adult twist on this resident event by hosting an apple cider inspire cocktail tasting. Property managers can use this post from Insanely Good Recipes for 20 apple cider cocktail ideas.

Fall Carnival: October means fall is in full swing, which is a great opportunity for property managers to host a fall carnival inspired resident event. Fall carnival activities can include making candy apples, scarecrow making, hayrides, pumpkin carving, a scavenger hunt, and outdoor games.

Cornhole Tournament: A cornhole tournament is a great October resident event. It allows residents to socialize while also enjoying cooler outdoor weather. Even better, because cornhole is so easy to play, everyone from kids to seniors can participate. Be sure to have a prize for the winner!

Multifamily Residents Dressed Up In Costumes At An October Resident Event Celebrating Halloween

Halloween Resident Event Ideas For October 2022

Halloween presents a major opportunity to host a variety of resident events at multifamily properties. Here are four Halloween related events property managers can organize this fall.

Kids Costume Parade: October means Halloween, which provides numerous opportunities for resident events. Get the kids at your property involved by hosting a costume parade where residents can come out and see all the kids dressed up. A great time to host a costume party is before a designated time for trick-or-treating at the property.

Adult Halloween Party: While a costume party is great for the kids, host an adults only Halloween party featuring Halloween games. Require costumes and do a best dressed contest with prizes for winners. Consider hosting this event prior to October 31st, when residents are likely to take their children trick-or-treating or have other plans.

Pumpkin Carving Contest: Purchase pumpkins, or have residents bring their own, and host a carving event and contest. Offer a Halloween or fall related prize to the best, or scariest, carving. Let residents carve their own designs or offer a variety of stencils. Click here for 43 free stencils that can be printed for free.

Candy Jar Contest: Put a large jar of Halloween style candy in the lobby or another common area. Have residents submit their guesses for the total number of pieces in the jar with the closest to the actual number winning the jar. This is a relatively easy and affordable activity for property managers with limited time and budgets.

Wide Variety Of Desserts On A Tray At An Apartment Resident Event

October’s “National Day” Celebrations

Every month we highlight “National Days” that make for great apartment resident events and activities. All of these come from the National Day Calendar and are a great reason to have an event or activity for your apartment residents!

National Homemade Cookies Day on October 1st: Have a homemade cookie potluck event where residents bring their own cookies to share. Another way to celebrate national homemade cookie day would be hosting a cookie baking class.

National Dessert Day on October 14th: Who doesn’t love a good dessert? Help residents celebrate national dessert day by hosting a dessert inspired party. Bring in cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, ice cream, and other sweet treats for residents to sample.

National Get Smart About Credit Day on October 20th: Bring in a financial expert and offer a free to class to residents on national get smart about credit day. While less fun than a dessert tasting or cookie baking class, this type of event is very practical and can be beneficial to residents.

National Color Day on October 22nd: Encourage residents to dress up in their favorite color on October 22nd to celebrate national color day. Do a voting board in the lobby or a common area where residents can quickly vote for their favorite color.
