April Fool’s Day – Celebrated on April 1, April Fool’s Day is a celebration of practical jokes and trickery. Fool residents with a silly email or note posted to their doors. Egg Decorating – Even if Easter has passed, this is a fun event for all. Bring hard-boiled eggs that everyone can paint. Either hire an artist to have everyone follow along or allow residents to get creative. At the end, you could do a contest for the best design. Provide painting supplies for the residents.
Passover Matzah Tasting – This year Easter and the first two days of Passover fall on the same weekend. Include residents in a Matzah taste test where you have various toppings for them to try on Matzah. You can’t forget to hand out chocolate-covered Matzah as an extra treat!
Celebrate Spring Break – During April, many school-aged students will have spring break. If you know the week that is used by the district the majority of school-aged residents attend, plan fun events to do during the day. A movie, scavenger hunt, or field day games are something all children would enjoy.
A Dog Party – Residents bring their pets to meet others and their four-legged friends. Consider having a happy hour for the event. If children will be there, ensure you have non-alcohol options such as grape juice or soda. Include various drinks and light appetizers. Don’t forget about pet treats for their furry friend. National Pet Day on April 11th – Who doesn’t love their pet? Set up a table with various treats for dogs, cats, and maybe small animals to give away to pet owners throughout the day. Encourage residents to post photos of their pets to your property’s Facebook group to receive their tasty treats.
National Earth Day on April 22nd – If your property has a garden, invite your residents to do some gardening or even plant something themselves. For fun, decorate your electric vehicle charging stations. You could also organize for a tree to be planted on Earth Day. This is also a great opportunity to remind residents about recycling and inform them of the building’s recycling system.
National Superhero Day on April 28th– Run a movie marathon of superhero movies all day long! Offer popcorn, candy, and sodas to residents as they come and go. Encourage children to dress up as their favorite superheroes and maybe even have a superhero mask decorating table with markers and stickers.
